Glymm December & Glymm Stocking Stuffer Bags

So these are a little late in being posted - I actually got the bags in the mail last week.. Early last week? I don't remember.

Anyways, I think I am done with Glymm. Maybe I'll give it one more month but they don't wow me anymore.

This month's "bag" was a fun gold colour and I have been using the other few I have as pencil cases thus far.

The December bag contained:

Overall I suppose the contents are things I will use.
I would like the lash serum to last longer than just 6 weeks though, as that's when the results are supposed to show.
The false lashes; if I can get them on (I don't know if they'll last with the glue already on them) will be fun.
The palette has a couple of colours I like
The nail polish I have heard comes off really easily; maybe a base and top coat will help that.

Finally the "free gift" for not cancelling was just another sample thrown in; it's actually the thing I don't like the most.

Next I purchased the "Stocking Stuffer" bag.

I believe I am missing the Bert's Bees sample and have emailed them about it.
Overall I'm happy - the bag included a $40 gift card to the Glymm store so it was worth the purchase for $35 I spent on the bag.
All except the Lash card & the Cyberderm samples, the rest are new to me so that's fun.

Glossybox November

Again it seems I am near the first to get this month's Glossybox - and it is my last.
I gave it a shot but at $21 a month I wasn't wowed last month so I cancelled.

This month's theme is Christmas; the card talked about how this month's box contains goodies to get us ready to sparkle and shine.

Happy Birthday with a Cold

I haven't been keeping up with the blogging world lately.

I've since gotten the November Julep box & the November Glymm box.

Today is my 26th birthday and I am sick.. That's mainly why I've been so lazy about blogging.
I get home from work and curl up in bed and try to keep warm and get back the ability to breath outta my nose.

If I get on things I'll take pictures of the Glymm and Julep boxes and will post about them.

I also ventured down to Watertown for Black Friday and picked up a few things.. Only one real super buy (flannel sheets for $16) otherwise no real spectacular savings or exciting things.
White Peppermint M&Ms - are so good; wonder if these will come to Canada.

Topbox November

I think I signed up for Topbox back in August, so when I finally got my "The Wait is Over" email I was pretty excited.

However, Topbox is also raising their prices (seems like every box is) from $10 a month to $12.
Topbox is different than other beauty boxes because they actually ship things in a tube.
I received version # 4 - which I found out from the tracking info on Canada Post.

I don't know how to sign up for the environmentally friendly packaging but I think this tube is really pretty; I just have to find a re-use for it.
Maybe once they start piling up I'll switch over.

Glossybox October

I am usually searching the internet to find out what was in this month's box the second I hear it has been shipped - but this month it seems the blogging world didn't get their Glossy boxes early. 
Even on facebook I only saw someone write out the items in the simplest description - no pictures.
So I was actually surprised when I opened the box.

This month, Glossybox centered around Breast Cancer and had a little note from The Team.

This is also the first month that the new pricing took effect - a week ago, or two; they sent out an email saying that they were raising the prices from $15/month to $21. But to those already subscribed the first month would still be $15.

Overall I liked this month's contents - I wish I got a different shade of nail polish (maybe something more flashy). But I am happy with the shampoo samples and the lipgloss/lip stick combo. I am a loyal Venus razor girl and haven't tried these blades yet. I haven't decided if I am going to stick it out for one more month at $21. But I might.

I am a pretty avid Pinterest user - I go on every once and a while and pin the heck out of alot of things.

If you're not too sure about the whole idea; I think of it as saving ideas for later.
Some people post things that are important to them - or try to make an online bulletin board that describes them.

My favourite pins lately are the following:

Rolo pretzels - I actually like them better using Caramilk squares but they're REALLY good either way

Baked bacon - no word of a lie it is the best way to cook bacon. I think it even tastes better.. well it ends up not curling as much; and your house doesn't smell like bacon for the rest of the day

Cheddar Bay Biscuits - nearly taste the same as Red Lobsters.

Wedding dress - not sure what I think about that much tulle but I like the idea...

Nail art - using scotch tape. Once I get my nail brushes from the slow boat that's coming from China - aka ebay I'll be trying this.

I feel like one day this will be Penny and what ever kind of lil puppy I get :)

Car cover for dog in the back seat - MUST learn to sew.

Starbucks Iced Passion Tea - Must try this once I can find more of the tea bags for less that $10 for 20...

October Glymm Bag

So I am new to Glymm and was pretty excited to see what was offered.
I didn't get to the post office when I got the news it had arrived right away and I actually picked it up yesterday - so this is a tad late.

I also had searched the internet and heard the rants about the contents, so I was a little worried

My overall thoughts are so/so.

The Buttercreme smells really good and I used it this morning on my damp ish hair (very small amount applied to the ends)... *My hair is straight and dry, but it seemed to add some moisture to it* 

The Lashcard - might use it on a whim once.
Mascara - just bought two new ones, so it'll go into the stash to be phased in.

Baby oil - if it works to remove eye make up I'll give it a whirl. I like that the bottle is big enough to get more than one use out of; but small enough to go in my travel makeup bag.

Again Julep impressed me this month.

The box choices this month involve alot of Suede colours - I haven't actually tried anything suede as of yet, but good 'ol Julep has choices for those that aren't sure.

I am chosing Maven's Choice again - I was a lil curious about the Suede polishes but the top coat will do that for me and I really liked Trina.

So I was all set to go ahead with Maven's Choice - but now I am realizing I think I want the colours in the Bombshell box, then add on the Matte Top Coat.

Do I want Scrub or Frosting?? Decisions...

I don't know about you - but I am a sample junkie!

There are days I spend trolling the internet for free samples and the stuff I get some of it I just want to have.

BUT there are some really good samples I have gotten over the last while.

Today PG Brand Sampler sent me a nice email saying there are "New Samples" available.

It's actually a pretty small sampler this time around and considering I JUST got the last one this week I'm not complaining.

NOTD - Pink for Breast Cancer

So I am feeling very into pink this week and have been pulling out everything pink I own of my closet.

I have a pink pashmina that has a breast cancer ribbon on it and numerous pink t shirts.

But I also went into my nail polish bags and pulled out two pink bottles of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

The dark pink is Speed Sunburst, the light pink is Fuchsia Flare and the Julep Polish is Emma.

Yesterday I started out with just one nail in the dark colour but today I decided to change them to every other nail.

I used Emma as the top coat to give it a sparkle.

October Julep Box

My October Julep box "Maven's Choice" arrived and I'm pretty excited for the fall colours.

The box included three polishes (Kiera, Lisa and Eloise), 2 glitter pots and a bag of candy corn.

Keira (Julep - Kira isn't spelt that way..) Deep merlot red creme.

Lisa Warm pebble grey creme

Eloise Smokey indigo blue creme.

Overall I think I like Kiera best - and am currently removing Lisa and Eloise from the other 3 nails.

One thing I love about Julep is it gets me to be interested in polishes I wouldn't normally buy,

Bummed that the drying drops haven't arrived yet (my add on); but none the less excited for fall colours.
