September Glossybox

So this month's Glossybox was said to be about the glitz, the glam and, of course, the gloss.
I literally just got back from the post office picking it up so I haven't tried anything yet.

Here is what was in the box:

Standard pick box with the ribbon and sticker :)

NYX Cosmetics: The Crimson Amulet Collection

The Crimson Amulet Collection enriches your beauty by adding glamour to your red carpet splendor.
I like that it comes with a variety of colours and products. Will have to try this all out.

Dove Cleartone
Dove Cleartone is specifically created to help reduce underarm discolouration caused by dry skin from shaving.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this month's box. I really liked that there was a Canadian product in there.
Of course I have seen a ton of other peoples' reviews and they are saying this is their favourite month so far.
I'm not at favourite, (mind you it's only box #2 so far) but maybe once I try out the pallette and the hair spray I'll be in love.
My box was version 1 (bottom left corner of product card) what was yours?
What part of the box was your favourite?

Shoes

So every time I buy something online I swear I won't get anything else for a while.

Then I get a coupon into my inbox.

Shoedazzle is having a sale for existing members - I got a $15 credit to use and I've been eyeing a pair of shoes for a little while.

Style: KANDA

Thanks to my lovely sister- she's gonna pick them up in New York and I will only have to pay a $5.00 handling fee to UPS instead of $15.00 worth of shipping.

Now how the hell am I am gonna get those shoes into my house without the fiance noticing??

If you'd like to sign up for the site - it's free and you get access to lots of shoes, accessories and even clothes.
Use my referral link here, thanks.

Darn it Julep (October colours)

So I had good intentions on not ordering any of the Julep boxes - because $19.99 for a month of nail polish seemed like alot.

I was doing well with skipping September as I didn't really like the colours and the mascara that was the feature product didn't appeal.
Then October rolls around; I didn't really appreciate the crackle polish and the box that didn't have that in it I wasn't sure about the colours. (Classic With A Twist)

So I went ahead and skipped the month.

Then apparently after all the facebook buzz they introduced a new box.

I actually really liked the colours - so I unskipped and added on the fast dry drops - might contact customer service and see if I can get those free as you're supposed to get your first add on free but I skipped the first month.

Damn them.

If you'd like to sign up for the intro box you can do so HERE - use promo code MAVENINTRO to get the first box for a penny :). SOOO worth it. Even if you chose to cancel (call 877.651.3292 Monday to Friday 9-5 PST or Saturday 9-1) just make sure to cancel or skip the box before the 24th of the month.

August Glossybox

It arrived !

I was pretty pleased that I actually picked the box up from the post office on Friday - I read alot of people receiving their boxes well into the next month so I was worried.

I must agree with everyone that the pink box will be kept in my closet for future use.

So the products that it contained are as follows
  • Sebastian Potion 9 Lite (150 ml / $20.95)
  • Biore Make-Up Removing Towelettes (10 ct / $3.99)
  • Kroyolan for Glossybox (Full Size) (Special Edition)
  •  Kroylan Satin Powder (Full Size) (3 gr / $14.99)
  • Befine Fine Skin Care (50-150 ml / $24 - $30)
  • Trend Trunk Mystery Gift Card - $5.00
  • Elastoplast SOS Blister (Travel Pack Full Size) (5 units / $5.99)
Sebastian Potion 9 Lite
The Glossybox card describes this as Potion 9 Lite condition, restores and enhances manageable styling
Here's hoping it's a really good leave in conditioner.

Biore Make-Up Removing Towelettes
Lock onto dirt and make-up, even stubborn waterproof mascara, and lift it away without leaving a greasy residue... so you get thoroughly clean skin.
Looks like a good makeup remover to put in my travel makeup bag.

Kryolan for Glossybox (Glossy Pink)

Professional beauty lipstick for soft and glamorous lips with a luminous, long-lasting colour.
Tried it - nice light pink colour - perfect for everyday wear.

Kryolan Satin Powder
This iridescent, micro-fine eyedust powder uses 48 pearlescent colours to create a brilliant shimmer on eyelids and skin.
Tried it - other than it being powder I really like it; it goes on as a light pink/gold colour and mixes well.

Befine Fine Food Skin Care
Amazing samples from the best in fine foods. The Exfoliating Cleanser, The Gentle Cleanser, The Night Cream, The Pore Refining Scrub Treatment and The Warming Clay Mask: A complete collection of superb products to invigorate, protect and detoxify your skin.
Can't wait to try these - the flavours alone entice me in.

Trend Trunk Mystery Gift Card ($5.00)

Cash in your closet with Trend Trunk, a social marketplace which allows you to buy, sell and donate amazing new and pre-loved fashion. This card could give you anywhere from $5-$250 to spend.

Elastoplast SOS Blister
Elastoplast SOS Blister helps you fall back in love with your fabulous, but painful shoes! With hydrocolloid technology, it helps blisters heal faster and its extra strong adhesion keeps the bandage in place for days. Travel Pack.
I was a little annoyed that they claimed this ONE band-aid to be a full size product. However it will join my vast collection of band-aids in my purse to combat blisters.

Overall I was pretty happy with this month's box.
I will use pretty much everything in the box; except the Trend Trunk card.

I am also really glad that I got the eye-shadow I had seen a couple other blogs that had received nail polish.

Online Shopping

So apparently it was free shipping day in the online retail world.

And fml I found out about it.

I purchased two things.
These shorts from Garage for $8.00.

This tank top from Aerie for $9.57.

I REALLY wanted this bathing suit from Garage - but my order got cancelled, because they didn't have it in size small after all :( So I'm gonna try the store later today as it's only $5.00.

Also my Glosy Box arrived YAY. Apparently they ship out near the end of the month; which was a little annoying, but it's here.

Review to come.

And today I order the Glymm box; but for October :( which is only a month away but it seems SO far.
